The Future. Too bad you can’t just flip on a channel on the TV and see what’s ahead. Most times the future is known. For the most part you can tell what’s on the horizon. Most things don’t just sneak up on you. They actually build up slowly over time. If you plan ahead and work hard, the future usually has a positive outcome. Now, if you sit back and ignore the writing on the wall, that future is one that makes you dread getting out of bed. Sitting back is the easy way out. Just recently I watched a pretty interesting video about being a leader. As it turns out we are all leaders. I always thought there was a leader and then those who followed. Pretty easy to understand how you can come to that conclusion. Form an outside eye that’s pretty much how it looks. But really, what’s happening is one person deciding on an action and others deciding that that action is the right idea. Each one of us can do great things on our own. Each one of us can make a difference in the lives of others. But on the grand scale of things, it is going to take each and every one of us to make things happen to make a difference in the lives of our families. The FUTURE of our children depends on how we fight for the present. How we fight for today. Each day is a battle. Each battle is a struggle. Every attack on a worker is an attack on our FUTURE. The struggle of today’s Union is not just a struggle for Union workers. It is a struggle for all workers, foreign and domestic. The low wages companies pay non-union workers are an assault on union wages, wages that support America’s middleclass. Good family supporting jobs.
